Refreshing

There is so much to share with you...last week I attended a Women's Conference hosted by the Protestant Women of the Chapel in Europe (PWOC), and it was perfect timing. A group of women from Hohenfels sponsored my trip to the conference in Willingen, Germany. During the week I attended classes on various topics from contentment to raising kids to worship. By the end of the week I had gone through 4 books of the Bible in in-depth studies. The theme was unity, this seems to be a theme of my life right now. The best part was bonding with ten other women from our community here in Hohenfels. It was a great way to get to know them outside of the distractions of life on Post. We had so much fun. I have made some really great new friendship and strengthened some other ones. I was ministered to in a significant way and was able to reach out to some of my hurting sisters. This last week reminded me of who I am in Christ, what God desires from and for me, how to just sit and listen to His voice, and how to love those around me.
While I was away Chris had Hunter for the entire week. They did great together. Daddy was even able to get Hunter on a better all-around schedule of sleeping, eating, and playing. Upon my return, I noticed a deeper bond between my boys and a real sense of harmony in our home. I think we have finally found a rhythm for our family. We are at a place we have not been in a while, and it feels good. Thank you God.
A few days after my return, Germany celebrated St. Martins day. This is a time where children in each town/village put together laterns and at dusk walk around the town singing traditional songs. They honor St. Martin, who as I can gather, was a humble bishop and a very good man, who gave his cloak to a pedler man. We participated in this event in our town. Hunter is pictured above with his friend, Lukas, as they prepared for the walk.
That same afternoon we enjoyed a visit from my Pastor at my home church in St. Louis, Vic Gerson and his son Caleb. It was so encouraging to have people from home come to see us, and also share in what God is doing through us here. We talked, visited, prayed, ate lots of German food, and talked some more. Hunter especially enjoyed Caleb as a new playmate. The last ten days or so have really been a time of refreshing, encouragement and a reminder of God's love for us.
