Extra Update: SLOVOKIA SERVICE PROJECT

The buses came to pick the group up at 1:30am. They spent the next 15 hours on a bus to get to Slovokia. The week consisted of little sleep, lots of work, and Kingdom purposes. Chris took a group of 11; 7 teens and 4 leaders counting himself. The teens from Hohenfels were hard-working and well-behaved.

Our group was put at one of the farthest worksites, in the Slovokian countryside. They travelled with translators, and spent the days building a playground at a rural school. In the afternoons, they would spend time playing with the children and conducting VBS for the young kids and "Club" for the high schoolers. In the evenings they would return to their lodging for an evening service and fellowship time.

It is amazing to hear the stories and how lives were transformed and challenged in so many ways. It was hard for the American kids to leave at the end of the week due to the bonds that had been made with the Slovokians. One of the last afternoon, the Slovokian children did a traditional ceremony for the American's. Many children, teens, and translators gave their hearts and lives to Christ. It was a powerful time of serving and lives being touched, both American and Slovokian.
