It is very important to us to have our
home be a place of ministry and peace. The last few weeks have been filled with opportunities to bless others, and hopefully do just that! We have been so busy sharing our
home with others. Friends and even people we do not know have been staying with us, as they are traveling through Germany or in the middle of
moving. We love hospitality and being able to share our time with others. In June, while Chris was at Camp, the Donahue family (American's living in Singapore) came to stay with us, while they attended some
World Cup Soccer Games. It was a great time of fellowshipping with other Christians from around the world. Then, Hunter and I hosted a new family for a couple of play dates. They were not yet in their
home and growing weary from living out of suitcases and such. It is a blessing to have more playmates. Then, near the end of June our neighbors, The Elkins [Erick, Dawn, and Caleb], were in the process of
moving; due to some extenuating circumstances they needed a place to stay for a couple of nights, so they moved in with us. It was awesome to have them here. Dawn and I have become great friends, and this gave us the opportunity to spend more time together before her move to Tucson, AZ. Then, this last week we have had some
memory building time with Chris' brother, Michael and his family, as they visit Europe for the
first time. Hunter got to spend some over due time with his cousins. Our German neighbors are even really accepting us into their cirlces. Most evenings people stand outside talking, and the wives will now come over to my yard to talk with me. We have even been invited to accompany another family to the Folkfest in Neumarkt (a large town/city about 20 km away) in August.Ashley, our summer intern, has started a girls Bible Study on the book of Ruth. This is providing her with an opportunity to get to know more of the girls and do some hands-on ministry. The first week there were
4 girls. Pray for Ashley as she shares with these girls and hopefully builds into their lives.Chris and a group of people from the ministry took an overnight trip to Poland (about 4 hours away) to set up the Middle School Service Project for the Fall. Please pray as Chris is apart of the logistics team. We will be taking Middle Schoolers from 4 military Posts to a mission in Poland to do service and outreach, right after school begins. There is a lot of excitement and we even had 5 teens signup the first day.
