Middle School Service Project: Poland

Last weekend, we took 13 Middle School students and 4 adult volunteers to Lwowek Sloski, Poland for our Service project. We joined with 5 other Posts to serve at the Elim Christian Center. The teens did work that included sanding paint off the walls and doors, hauling rocks and other debris, working in the lending closet to sort clothes to give to the locals. It was amazing to witness the poverty of this area and hear the story behind God's hand opening the doors in Poland. The teens from Hohenfels worked at a warehouse that is being restored as a museum to bring tourism into this region of Poland. During the weekend, we had lessons on the "persecuted church"; we heard taped testimonials of Christian brothers and sisters who are walking out their faith is "closed" countries. Our teens were stirred to do more for the sake of the Gospel, in their community.

We are keeping busy from Coffee House to Discipleship group to Football and worship teams. Please pray...the Coffee House outreach is slow to grow, while Discipleship Bible Study is taking off. We need patience to allow God to establish what He has for Hohenfels. God is placing us in a position of influence and we are humbled at how he wants to use our small ministry to reach beyond the walls of Hohenfels.

We are currently enjoying a visit from Chris's parents. Hunter loves having his Nana and Pops around to play! Hunter and I joined a German playgroup, which begins on Monday. I went to an informative meeting last week, and only understood about 50% of the conversation. My neighbors are always willing to help, but things get lost in the translation. Pray that we will commit to making more family time in our busy ministry schedules. It is struggle as we enter the school year.

We are very thankful for the part you all play in our ministry, whether that be the financial investments or time in prayer, or both. God is faithful to provide for all our ministry needs month to month. Thank you for your excitement and all of the encouraging emails I constantly receive. It makes living across the "large pond" and away from home an easier adjustment. Remain faithful where God has you...He has such purpose for your life, exactly where you are.
Blessings!
