Spring has Sprung...or has it?

Well, we have been enjoying 60 degree plus weather for the last couple of weeks (this warm weather is very unusual for Winter in Bavaria). I had even put away many winter sweaters and boots looking forward to Spring, and then it happened. Sunday night the temperatures dropped and dropped and dropped...then what should have been rain on Monday became "buckets-full" of snow. This was the scene outside our house; Hunter even built his very first snow man. It has continued to snow off and on for the last 3 days. We accumulate about 3 or 4 inches and then it melts during midday, but not all of it, and by morning there is more. Hunter and his friends do not mind; this represents the second time he has been able to use the sled this winter. We kept waiting for "the big snow" to start, well I guess this is it.
Chris is gearing up for the MCYM service project. A team of over 1,000 military youth and volunteers will return to Slovokia. We are so excited to be taking a team of 37. Please pray that the service project will be a great time of challenging our teens to love God as they serve and love others. The teens are excited about Club Beyond and always asking what we will be doing next. I know I have told some of you already, but we have really experienced a breakthrough with the teens. They use to come to the coffee house or Bible study sort of depressed and down, but a few weeks ago we noticed a shift. They are now coming in excited and filled with joy about whatever we are talking about or doing. Even some of the "rougher kids" are coming around on a regular basis to see what this Coffee house is all about. This is just a testimony of God's faithfulness and greatness.
I am currently finishing the last elective for my Masters. This will free up a lot my time once I am finished, which will hopefully happen by the end of March. Hunter has officially been accepted to our local Kindergarten, in which he will attend half days in the morning starting in September. He is very excited, and I am hoping to have the time to do more worship ministry.
We have several prayer requests that we need you to pray for. We, and especially Hunter has been sick (not serious, just the common cold) for seemingly more than a month; he just can't shake it. We have medicated and sanitized and prayed, but now its time for reinforcements. We feel like we are coming under attack lately, maybe its due to what God is going to do at the service project, but we are having minor car issues, which is just a hassle as we would like to focus on other things. Pray for our community, a week or so ago we experienced two deaths, one of a year old toddler and another of a teenage boy; both are weighing heavy on the community. Pray for the coordination and safety for the Service Project, and may God be at the center.
MCYM is also looking for volunteers, college age and up to be a part of our Camp Staff from June 11-30 at Camp Darby, Italy. Interested individuals would need to fundraise for all expenses incurred. If you are interested and would like more information please contact Meaghan. Grace and Peace be with you!
