I'm Dreaming of a White Easter...

So, I have heard it said that it is possible to experience 4 seasons in one day in Bavaria, and lately we have seen just that. My mom arrived on the Wednesday before Easter and brought with her "old man winter". From the time she set foot on the ground in Munich, until the following Wednesday, we experienced more snow than we have had all year. Snow came down in buckets at the Easter morning services; friends talked of kids doing egg hunts and having to looking through snow mounds. But then the snow melted and temperatures have escalated to high 50's, low 60's and it's been beautiful.

It has been a blessing to have my mom here for the Easter season, as I played 7 services from Thursday - Sunday of Holy week. I was exhausted; so she helped cook, clean, babysit and take care of all of us. Since then, things have slowed down and we have had time to just "hang out" and have mom experience our life here. She has gotten to take Hunter and pick him up from Kindergarten; we have gone to Frulings Market (spring markets with local wares); we have done several hikes up to castles and lookouts; and no spring visit is complete without spring cleaning and flowers (she is really good at that). This week we will be going to a Mutti's frustuck (breakfast) with our playgroup mom's.

Chris is preparing to leave for the Mission Trip to Turnov, Czech; His Dad comes in town this week and will be one of our adult leaders on the trip. We are taking a team of 25 teens on the trip and all are excited. Chris has been discipling four boys and has seen some real growth. We have some great testimonies of how families are seeing real change is their kids. A few girls have really connected with Cheyenne and their families are starting to come to church. I would like to share some of these stories more in depth, but I need to wait until I have their permission. Support of our community is at an all time high, but we are getting ready to have several families P.C.S. (move) to new military posts; so we must begin the search for new volunteers.

People cannot believe how tall Hunter is becoming. He is a very busy boy, who still naps. He loves school and especially Sunday school. He has been talking about Jesus dying on the cross a lot, and its amazing to see how much he is grasping. We are starting to meet more of his friends from school. He is well liked especially by the girls. Next year, all the kids on our street will be in the same classroom, what a great way for them to bond even more. We really love it here and can't believe its been over two years already. Our American neighbors are leaving this week and we are hoping to have some friends move in next door. Hunter will have his first American playmate just down the street.
