Earlier this month, Hunter and I had the privilege of sharing our life in Germany experie

nce with the entire first grade at his school. It was so great to share our memories of the culture and the people we met while living in Germany. Hunter did great and even spoke broken-German to his classmates. He taught them the flag colors and showed them toys and even dressed up in his lederhosen. I was so proud of him. It was a great time to share with him! We enjoyed reminiscing about all of it. He classmates were so supportive of him. We then shared german chocolates and marmorkuchen or marble cake. We shared our time with a young man who spent a month in Rwanda as a teachers aid at a school. It was fun to learn about this culture. The entire day made us long for our friends in Germany and celebrate the opportunity we were given while living there.

On the adoption front, we began our homestudy this month. We met with the Lutheran Family Services adoption counselor. This process has required lots of paperwork and visits to the courthouse and sheriff's office, but it is all for a good reason. We are excited about the journey God is taking us on. We feel like we are learning so much. We hope to share more as the months go on. As for now, we are hoping to complete our homestudy by Easter.
