The Black Forest

Well, we left the Frankfurt area this morning. First, we headed to Ketsch to pick up a key to the apartment we will be staying at from May 20-26. When we arrived at the house, where the key was suppose to be, no one was home. I called Karin, the lady who is letting us use her apartment. She was concerned, since we were there and waiting. So, I gave the phone to an older German gentlemen standing in the street, so Karin could ask a couple of questions. The next thing we knew, the gentlemen was getting us drinks while we waited and the neighbors began calling the local grocery stores until they found her and she quickly road home to give us the key. It was quite funny to see the spectacle unfold and very typical German. They had to solve the problem and then once we had the key, everything was in its place.

From there, we drove down to Kandern, in the Black Forest. Definitely some amazing views. The town is quaint. We met the missionary couple who owns the old Art Factory, which has the apartment where we are staying. They are great and were kindred spirits. After a couple of hours of talking and fellowshipping, we went to dinner and saw the town. We even walked into the kirche, where a women was playing classical piano. We had our own concert for about 15 minutes. It was amazing! The students love Germany and are talking about returning after graduation. Sorry parents, it is difficult to go back, once you have been exposed. Thanks for the continued prayers. Tomorrow, Lucern Switzerland!

Chris
