Culture in Germany

Sorry everyone, no internet for the last four days. Here is a recap:

Tuesday, we took in a little bit of German culture. We went to a local schwimbad in Schweitzegen. The Germans enjoy recreating with lots of pools, slides, saunas, etc. The students got to experience a relaxing day recreating like a German. The weather was perfect. I would say more, but we really didn’t do anything else other than go out to a wonderful German restaurant called the Brauhaus.

Wednesday, we drove over to Heidelberg for the afternoon and evening. The students got to walk along the river, tour the Heidelberg castle, and eat at a wonderful restaurant in the Heidelberg historic district. The students are wanting more alone time now, which doesn’t come as a surprise. After all, we have been together for sixteen straight days. We also have been able to get our laundry done one last time, as to have enough clean clothes to get us home.

Thursday, we went to Speyer for the afternoon and evening. I had never been, so I didn’t know what to expect. It was really amazing. There were some ancient Roman ruins and a lot of other historical buildings, including a large domed church. We also had a wonderful Greek dinner and just enjoyed leisurely walking around. Tomorrow, we are off to Munich and the beginning of the final week of our journey. Please continue to pray, as I think we are starting to get tired.

Chris
